GAA 2014 Annual Meeting
by posted 03/29/2014

APRIL 27, 2014, 3:00 PM

All Grassland Athletic Association (GAA) participants and their families are invited as members of this association to join us at our annual meeting.  At this meeting, we will present the previous years’ news, any recommendations for the membership to vote on, and elect new members to our board of directors.

As President of GAA, I really enjoyed this year's volunteers who took time to serve our kids in this community thru this association. So much was accomplished and provided for our communities' families.

Hopefully, you may have the opportunity and desire to serve a term on our board. If so, please contact our administrator, Carol DeFranco via the GAA email,   or our general voice mail at 615-392-0422.

We have openings on the board for each of our sports or you may want to serve more as an at large member. Feel free to contact us as well with any questions.

Thanks for playing your child's youth sports in our community at Grassland Athletic Association,

Bob Harden
GAA President

Grassland Athletic Association Concussion Policy
by posted 03/03/2014
Like many youth sports organizations in Tennessee, the Board of Directors for Grassland Athletic Association have developed and implemented a new policy to help protect our kids regarding concussions with regards to Tennessee's Public Chapter Act 148.

No youth athlete who has been removed from play due to suspected concussion may return to practice or competition until the youth athlete is evaluated by a health care provider and receives written clearance from the health care provider for a full or graduated return to play.

Should a player be removed for these reasons, please be aware that Grassland Athletic Association does not have any medical personnel at any of our fields who can release said player to return to action at any of our games or practices.
This release would have to be obtained by the parent from the appropriate medical personnel.

More information from the State of Tennessee is available at on concussions.

More information from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is available at
